Camp T Summer Day Camp & Sports Camp

The Town of Torbay is pleased to offer Camp T Summer Day Camp for 2026! 

Please read carefully the information below with respect to both Summer Day Camp and Sports Camp:

Summer Day Camp

Registration opens for Summer Day Camp for Torbay residents only on May 6, 2026 at 10 a.m. on e-Services. Registration opens for non Torbay residents on May 13, 2026 at 10 a.m. on e-Services if there is still availability.

  • Camp runs for 8 weeks, from June 29, 2026 – August 21, 2026. The cost per child is $170 total per week.
  • Week 1 would only cost $136 total for the week due to the July 1 Canada Day and Memorial Day Holiday.
  • Camp is open for children ages 5-12.

Users are advised to ensure that their e-Services account is accessible, up-to-date, and ready to go prior to registration going live as this event a huge demand and often sells out in minutes. Help can be requested with e-Services accounts at recreation@torbay.ca before May 6 to ensure a smooth process on the day of.

Sports Camp

Geared for youth ages 11-15, participants will have the opportunity to try out a number of different sports and physical activities while also learning various skills throughout the summer. Each week will feature a new sport such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, pickleball, and more!

Registration opens for Sports Camp for Torbay residents only on May 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. on e-Services. Registration opens for non Torbay residents on May 14, 2026 at 10 a.m. on e-Services if there is still availability.

  • Camp runs from June 29, 2026 – August 28, 2026 (There is no Sports Camp during the week of August 16 - 20 due to the Killick Coast Regional Games. The cost per child is $170 total per week.
  • Week 1 would only cost $136 total for the week due to the July 1 Canada Day and Memorial Day Holiday.
  • Camp is open for children ages 11-15 (Born in and between 2011 and 2015).
  • Sports Camp will take place at the Upper Three Corner Pond Park Multipurpose Building with daily drop off between 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and pick up between 4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pickleball Court Rentals
The Torbay Common will be taking pickleball court rentals through e-Services. Each rental will be for a total of 1 hour of court time and availability will be subject to change based off our building rentals, special events, etc. For available slots, please visit our event page.

Parent/Child Mother Goose Program
The Parent / Child Mother Goose Program is a group experience for families with babies and young children. Together, parents and children experience the spark of delight and magic that comes from enjoying a favorite song or rhyme. Over time, participants learn a repertoire of rhymes, songs, and stories that allow for a strengthened connection and bond within families.

Parents gain skills and confidence that help them create positive family patterns during their children’s crucial early years. At the same time, children benefit from enjoyable, healthy early experiences with language and communication. There is emphasis on nurturing the positive interaction between parent and child using touching, tickling, and cuddling.

Duration: March 23 - June 1
When: Mondays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Active Start
Getting an active start gives you the confidence and ability to engage in physical activity and maintain a healthy active lifestyle throughout life. This program is a self-led free play environment with access to soft-play and active equipment, the program will promote fun and physical activity.

Duration: March 2 - May 29
When: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (No Session on March 16, April 6, 8, 10, & May 18) 
Where: Torbay Common Gymnasium
Ages: Open to Ages 0 - 5
Fees: $2.00 for Individual Session Passes per Child, or $20.00 for 10 Session Passes (Available for purchase at Torbay Common)

Walking Track
The Torbay Common Walking Track will be open to the public to stop by on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Adult Pickup Basketball
Whether you’re looking to practice your shot or interested in some friendly competition, stop by the Torbay Common on Wednesday evenings for a game of pick up basketball. Nets will be set up and balls will be available for use.

Duration: March 4 - May 27
When: Wednesdays from 9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Gentle Yoga
Stay healthy, mobile, and connected by joining instructor Jane Bantleman for a gentle yoga class. Participants must bring their own mat, block, and water bottle.

Duration: April 1 - June 3
When: Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Where: Torbay Common Multipurpose Rooms (Moved to Upper Three Corner Pond Park on January 28)
Ages: Open to Ages 18+
Fees: $10.00 +HST for Individual Session Passes (Limited number available for purchase), $100.00 +HST for Full 10 Session Passes (Pre-registration Required)

Cardio Drumming
Join instructor Lorie Robbins for what might be the most fun and stress relieving workout in the world! Using an exercise ball and drumsticks, participants will bash, pound, and dance their way through an hour-long workout session to a variety of up-tempo beats that will having you working on a wide range of muscle groups in a fun and welcoming environment.

When: Mondays from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (No Session on May 18)

Drop In Sports
Take a break from hitting the books and stop by Torbay Common for an afternoon of sports. Each week the Torbay Common Gym will be open for youth grades 5-12 to stop by and participate in some friendly competition sports like basketball, soccer, dodgeball, and more!

When: Weekdays from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (No Session Between April 6 - 10, & May 18)

Ages: Open to Anyone in Grades 5 - 12

Drop In Pickleball
A friendly, fun, and casual game of pickleball as a drop-in format. Pre-registration not required.

Level 1 Beginners Pickleball Clinic
Looking to learn the rules and how to play Pickleball? Join members from Pickleball NL for this 3-hour clinic that will help you get a better understanding of the rules, gameplay, and techniques of North America’s fastest growing sport!

When: April 11 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

YogaFit
Join Carly from Newfound Lifestyle for a combination full body fitness class. Incorporating full body functional fitness, followed by restorative yoga to provide an invigorating and balanced experience.

Duration: April 14 - June 2
When: Tuesdays & Fridays from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (No Session on April 7 & 9)

Thursday Intermediate Yoga
Join Pam Senior for a yoga class to help you stay healthy, mobile, and connected. Some knowledge of yoga is recommended. Participants must bring their own mat, block, and water bottle.

Duration: May 7 - June 18
When: Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Where: Torbay Common Multipurpose Rooms 1, 2, and 3.
Ages: Open to ages 18+
Fees: $55.00 +HST for full 7 Class Session Pass (Pre-registration Required)

Level 2 Pickleball Clinic
Join certified instructors Leonard and Brenda Lye for the 4-week, 8-hour total clinic for players who would like to improve and refine their skills in the serves and returns, dinks, drops and drives, game strategies and more. This clinic is open to participants with playing experience, knowledge of game rules and can keep score comfortably. Please note that this is not a beginner’s level clinic for those who are new to the game and are encouraged to attend the Level 1 clinic on April 11.

Duration: May 10 - May 31
When: Sundays from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Ages: Open to Ages 16+

Community Garden
Community Garden beds are available once again at Torbay Common (overflow parking lot). Participants will be sent a “Welcome Package” and a form to sign and return before the start of the season. All of our garden beds are numbered; requests can be made for certain numbered beds on the form. There are a limited number of standing beds that are waist high, we ask that you please indicate which bed you would prefer (raised beds are on the ground) when completing the form.

Community Garden beds are available on a first come first serve basis. A maximum of 1 bed per person is permitted upon registration, more beds can be requested later in the season only if there are beds available at that time.

Some of our programs and events require pre-registration. The fastest and easiest way to secure a spot in our programs and events is through e-Services. Anyone who is unable to use e-Services can visit the front desk at the Torbay Common any day of the week between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., or contact our staff by phone at (709) 437-6555 or email the event contact indicated under all of our programs and events.
