2022 Community Market at Torbay Common Information and FAQ
When is the Community Market, and where?
The Community Market is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at Torbay Common, 8 Kinsmen Place (FREE admission). Vendors will be set up inside the facility, and depending on the volume of registration and types of registration (Mobile Vendors, etc.), some vendors will be outside as well.
When is vendor registration?
Vendor Registration begins on Wednesday, June 15, and will close at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 12. The Town of Torbay kindly request all vendors to register during this time; any last-minute registration after the closing date will be reviewed and evaluated individually.
Please note that the week before the market, staff are working hard to organize a set up for the Market to ensure everyone has a fun, safe, and outstanding time.
I want to book a table; how do I register/pay for registration?
To register, please visit e-Services and sign in to your account. An online Vendor Registration form will be available to fill out along with an online payment option.
How much does it cost to register as a vendor?
Registration costs $15.00 + HST. Registration includes one (1) table, six feet in length, and one (1) Chair. Vendors can bring an extra chair but NOT an extra table.
I will be selling food products. Why do I need a food permit, and how can I obtain one?
The Town of Torbay kindly requests that ALL food vendors adhere to all food safety and quality guidelines and legislation in this province. ALL vendors offering food/food products are REQUIRED by the Province of NL to provide a temporary food license. Forms can be found online at www.servicenl.gov.nl.ca/licenses/env_health/index.html

Will there be a preference for past vendors?
Registration is open to all vendors on June 15th. The logistics of arranging and organizing a high volume of vendors is a large undertaking, and the Town staff will do their best to be accommodating. However, there is no preference for past vendors.
There will be no special requests for table locations at Torbay Common. This will be a first-come, first-serve set up. The Town recommends arriving at Torbay Common early on Market Day to secure your preferred location.
I operate a Not-for-Profit organization; Am I required to pay for registration?
The Market is open to all vendors. If you operate a Not-for-profit, please contact the Town of Torbay Office at 437-6532 regarding registration.
I do not operate a business within Torbay, but I would like to book a table/am a mobile truck vendor, and/or provide product that is unique and not available in Torbay. Am I able to register?
Yes, the Market is open to all vendors with online registration required. For mobile vendors, a permit to operate is required through the Town Please contact the Town of Torbay Office at 437-6532, ext 230 regarding potential registration and to obtain a permit.
Where do I park?
Torbay Common’s parking lot is situated at the front of the building, allowing for easy access to the main doors. There are several Accessible Parking locations on the parking lot, easily identified with the blue and white international paint/wheelchair logo.
Vendor Set Up/take down
The Town of Torbay kindly requests ALL vendors to be respectful of the set up and take down time requested.
- Entry for vendors will be through the main front doors of Torbay Common
- Vendor setup is between 8:30 am – 10:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022
- Vendor take down is between 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm same day
What products are not permitted at the Community Market?
Products that are not permitted at the Community Market are;
- Open flame products such as flame-burners/lighters
- Oil paints/oil-based products that require specialized ventilation
- Cigarettes, alcohol, cannabis, or any drug-related paraphernalia are strictly prohibited in the Torbay Common Community Centre and property
- Sticky Tac/tape or other adhesives are not permitted to be used on the walls
Can I take down my booth and leave early from the market?
The Town of Torbay kindly requests all vendors to remain at the Community Market for the duration, from 10:00 am-4:00 pm. Take down for vendors will be after 4:00 pm. This will minimize/eliminate any unwanted chaos as well as the potential impact on Market visitors entering and exiting the building
Something came up, and I cannot fulfill my obligation as a vendor; can I get a refund?

Torbay Common, located at 8 Kinsmen Place, is a multi-generational facility that is designed to support the health and wellbeing of Torbay residents through dedicated recreational, leisure, and specialized programming and events as well as support bookings to meet business needs, concerts, and more. The Facility offers multi-purpose rooms, a gymnasium, a commercial kitchen, boardrooms, and a comfortable seating area in the main atrium. Outdoor space includes a skate park, playground, and splash pad.
