Recycling
When disposing of recycling, ensure that items are sorted into appropriate groups and bagged properly.
Sort It Out:
- Sort recyclables into paper products and containers.
- Rinse containers before recycling them. It’s important to rinse milk cartons and they belong with your container bag.
- Remove lids, caps, and straws from containers. Along with wrap, plastic, and styrofoam from boxes and paper.
Bag It:
- Place paper products and containers into separate blue bags.
- See-through blue bags must be used for recycling only. You can buy blue bags at most retail stores where you buy garbage bags.
- Cardboard can be placed in a blue bag or broken down and bundled.
- Cardboard bundles shouldn’t measure more than 2ft X 2ft X 1ft.
- Place recyclables loosely in the blue bag.
