Town Events
Some of our programs and events require pre-registration. The fastest and easiest way to secure a spot in our programs and events is through e-Services. Anyone who is unable to use e-Services can visit the front desk at the Torbay Common any day of the week between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., or contact our staff by phone at (709) 437-6555 or email the event contact indicated under all of our programs and events.
Registration for History House Programs and Events can be done through e-Services, by phone at (709) 437-6532 ext.270, or in person at Torbay History House during business hours (Monday - Saturday from 9:00am- 4:00pm)
Thriving Communities: How Trauma Awareness Fuels Wellness & Connection
Trauma Awareness Educator and Certified Trauma Recovery Coach Denise Tapper Blake will be on-site to offer an educational session on recognizing the effects of trauma and to raise awareness on the impacts of trauma on ourselves, our relationships, and within our professional and personal environments.

National Seniors Day Part 1
Celebrate National Seniors Day with the first part of our activities featuring a Seniors Fun Day with the Town of Torbay! There will be tea, coffee, and light refreshments provided, along with cards, music, and games! Drop by, there’s something for everyone!

Turkey Trot Fun Run
Choose to run, walk, or trot and join in on our Turkey Trot Fun Run! Throughout the day there will be a family, junior, and intermediate division. The top 3 trotters in the junior and intermediate division will take home a prize and the first participant to cross the finish line in the family race gets to take home a turkey! All participants will get to take home their own Turkey Trot medal and a celebratory BBQ lunch will be served after the race. All participants must pre-register prior to the day of, and bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the North East Avalon Food Bank.

National Seniors Day Part 2
Come be a part of the National Seniors Day celebrations and join us for a concert at the Majestic Theatre featuring The Voices of Ireland: Ger O Donnell, Don Stiffe, and Trevor Sexton. Transportation from the Common is provided, and will be leaving the Common at 2pm sharp. We will then return for a beautiful catered meal to show our appreciation for seniors in our community! Spaces are limited, so register early on e-Services! You won’t want to miss this!

ASIST Training
LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a 2 day in-person workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. Participants will learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.

Personal & Financial Estate Lunch & Learn
Join Krista Lee, CFP, for a continuation of the first session from Spring 2025, or join us for the first time. She will lead you through ideas and answer questions about aging at home, planning for your estate needs and final wishes. Take control and ensure that your estate is carried out based on your wishes and interests.

Trunk or Treat
The Town of Torbay is pleased to partner with local businesses and residents throughout the community to provide a safe, secure, and fun afternoon of Trick or Treating. Be sure to wear your costume and bring along your treat bag! A limited number of tickets are available through e-Services and will be on a first come first served basis.

Creepy Common Haunted House
Step into the spook-tacular world of The Creepy Common, where adventure awaits around every corner! Start in the Mischievous Meadow, a fun and friendly space filled with quirky monsters, petrifying pumpkins, and silly surprises perfect for little ones. But beware, as you wander deeper into the woods, you’ll find yourself in the Freaky Forest, a spine-chilling area filled with eerie sounds, creepy creatures, and a few scares that might just make you jump! Will you brave the whole Common? Only the bravest will make it through!
