The Towns of Torbay and Flatrock in Partnership with the Torbay Volunteer Fire Department Present the First Annual Chief McGrath Award
The towns of Torbay and Flatrock in partnership with the Torbay Volunteer Fire Department are pleased to announce the winners of the Chief McGrath Award which will be presented annually to Grade 4, 8, and 12 students who are residents of the Towns of Torbay and/or Flatrock.
A small Covid friendly award ceremony celebrating the many contributions and achievements of the youth within our communities took place Wednesday evening June 23, 2021 held at Torbay Common. Attended by family of the recipients and representatives from both Torbay and Flatrock, Mayor Craig Scott of Torbay, Councilor Michelle Martin of Flatrock, MHA Joedy Wall and MP Jack Harris. Special guest Chief McGrath awarded the recipients with their plaques and awards.
Congratulations to the winners of the first annual Chief McGrath Award. Eryn LeGrow received the Grade 4 Chief McGrath award for Community Leadership. Charla Woodford from Juniper Ridge Intermediate received the grade 8 Chief McGrath award for Community Leadership, and Ethan Decker a graduating PE member with Allied Youth NL received the grade 12 Chief McGrath award for Community Youth Leadership.
