Public Hearing – March 22nd (Cancelled)


Due to no written objections to the amendments, this public hearing has been cancelled.


Municipal Plan Amendment No. 2, 2017, Development Regulations Amendment No. 3, 2017, and St. John’s Urban Region Plan Amendment No. 8, 2018


The Town Council of Torbay has adopted Municipal Plan Amendment No. 2, 2017 and Development Regulations Amendment No. 3, 2017. The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment has adopted St. John’s Urban Region Plan Amendment No. 8, 2018.

A Public Hearing to consider objections and representations on the above noted Amendments will be held at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd day of March 2018, at the Upper Three Corner Pond Park Multipurpose Building. Municipal Plan Amendment No. 2, 2017, will re-designate a small parcel of land for a single lot development at the end of Barn Marsh Road from Rural to Residential. Development Regulation Amendment No. 3, 2017 will re-zone the area of land from Rural to Residential Infill.

The St. John’s Urban Region Plan Amendment No. 8, 2018 will re-designate land as described in Municipal Plan Amendment No. 2, 2017, and Development Regulations Amendment No. 3, 2017, from Rural to Urban Development.

Anyone wishing to make an objection or representation at the Public Hearing shall deposit with the Town Clerk of Torbay, two copies of a signed written statement outlining the objection or representation by 3:00 p.m. on the 16th day of March, 2018. If no written objection or representation with respect to the Torbay Municipal Plan Amendment No. 2, 2017, and Development Regulations Amendment No. 3, 2017 are received within the time indicated, the Public Hearing may be cancelled.

Council encourages residents to view a copy of Torbay Municipal Plan Amendment No. 2, 2017, and Development Regulations Amendment No. 3, 2017 along with St. John’s Urban Region Plan Amendment No. 8, 2018.
