PRESS RELEASE: Torbay Land & Sea Heritage Festival
Visit the Torbay History House and Museum at 2 Convent Land from August 26th-28th for a weekend of music, community, and craft! The Torbay Land & Sea Heritage Festival celebrates Newfoundland’s unique culture and history with events for all ages, ending with a catered picnic on Torbay Beach.
OUTLINE OF EVENTS
August 26th
Join the History House for a Kitchen Party on August 26th to celebrate the opening of the Mannion Collection at the Jacob Bradbury Archives & Genealogy Room and take in an Irish musical performance by Sean Sullivan, Jim Bradley, and Sheldon Thornhill.
Time: 7:00-9:00pm
Location: Torbay History House, 2 Convent Lane
August 27th
Lovers of history can visit the History House on August 27th for Living History Exhibits of traditional Newfoundland crafts, along with live music and a kids craft station. Visit the back deck in the evening for storytelling hosted by the Torbay Folk Arts Council.
Time:
- Living History Exhibits, 10:00am-3:00pm
- Music from 1:00-4:00pm
- Book Signing with Dr. John Mannion from 2:00-3:30 pm
- Storytelling from 7:00-9:00pm

August 28th
The Land & Sea Heritage Festival culminates in “A Taste of Land & Sea” community picnic at Torbay Beach on August 28th, with an assortment of sandwiches, salads, desserts, snacks, and refreshments.
