On Saturday July 5th, 2025, the annual Outpost 8k trail race is taking place on Father Troy’s Trail and the finish line is on Lower Street, near the bridge. Runners will be completing the race from 9 am until roughly noon.

There will be about 100 runners plus volunteers along the East Coast Trail as well as volunteers. they will also be using a detour around Tappers Cove due to construction.

The race will begin in Flatrock at 9:00am and the first runners will likely be coming to the finish line at around 9:40am, continuing until the cut-off at 10:30am. Foot traffic, as well as some volunteer vehicles, some music and cheering, as well as a maximum of 110 people including volunteers are expected to be passing through the Lower Street area between the estimated 9:40am and 10:30am cut off.

Race organizers have been advised that there is limited parking (1-2 vehicles max) and residents on Lower Street have been notified by race organizers. Outpost racing has worked with the town to ensure compliance with all town regulations for an event of this type.
