Municipal Water Update

Since last Friday, April 7th,  the Town has had some significant water issues on the North Side of Torbay which is being fed through the Thorne’s Lane Pump House. We can attribute these issues to the testing of systems at the new middle school, coupled with some infrastructure repairs the Department of Public Works has been in the process of completing – this caused the discoloration and lack of pressure affecting resident’s water supplies.

Staff have been working with the Provincial Department of Transportation and Works on this matter and there will be no further testing at the new middle school until all the necessary upgrades have been completed. Residents should expect to see water discoloration dissipate shortly with all pressure returning to normal levels but we are still recommending residents to run their water in a bath-tub or laundry sink to speed up the process of flushing the discoloured water from our system.

The Town would like to thank residents for their patience at this time.

Very happy to receive the information, although I had to click twice, once for ‘click here’ and then to move down a couple of screens of colourful symbols and decorative headings! Is there some way these news items could be sent to one’s in-box as ‘plain text’ without all the fancy headings. By my calculation there was a total of at least 4 screens that had to me moved out of the way to reach the actual text. The text itself was not that lengthy, about 4 paragraphs?
Just a suggestion, maybe less of a task for somebody ‘swiping’ the display but a nuisance for someone using a laptop and viewing these rows/pages of unnecessary (colourful and not required)imitations of flowers.
