How To Contact Staff and Council of the Town of Torbay

We know that the times when you could contact any organization on a single channel are long gone. The same goes for Towns like ours.

We also understand the importance and impact of social media when it comes to proactive citizen engagement. While we are thrilled to explore and continue to improve these new avenues for communication to reach a wider audience, it also leads to new support difficulties.

In light of recent events, we’d like to take the time to point out some of the various touch points we have for communication in Torbay so you understand who is monitoring them and when. That way, you can choose the best channel to meet your needs. Especially if those needs are time sensitive.

Emergency: When a complaint is time sensitive or urgent in nature, we urge residents to use official channels to contact us. For after hours reporting, call 437-6532. You might tag a council member or the town page on a social site, but that notification may not be seen right away.

Website: Our feedback button on the website is completely track-able by our team. This is our most powerful tool for tracking issues and reaching a resolution.

Directly: You may want to talk to someone in person. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Our contact page with all phone numbers and email addresses for staff and council is located here.

Torbay Facebook Page: This page is monitored by admins during office hours. It’s a place to share events and news but if your issue is time sensitive, this may not be the best place to post it.

Torbay Twitter Page: This page is also monitored by admins during office hours. Again, if your issue is time sensitive, this may not be the best tool to reach us with.

Facebook Groups: There are several public and closed Facebook groups pertaining to the town. Some council members are in these groups and some are not. While some choose to participate in these groups, it’s not an official communication channel monitored 24/7.

Torbay Talks and Torbay Alerts: signing up to these systems is a great way to stay informed about what’s happening in our town. Sign up for Torbay Alerts here and subscribe to Torbay Talks here.

We welcome all of our residents to address any concerns or requests for information with us directly, as we strive to continue to provide individualized and excellent service in our community.

Thank you.
Council and staff, Town of Torbay.
