Food Hampers
As many residents face unexpected hardship due to the impacts of COVID-19 and the necessary protective orders in place, the Town of Torbay has been working to provide supports to the community. In partnership with Food First NL and Foodland Torbay, the Town of Torbay will be distributing 50 food hampers to families in Torbay.
Hampers will be pre-made with similar contents, including fresh fruit & vegetables, butter, and pasta, and valued at $ 50.00 each. Food hampers will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Recipients will not be permitted to select or exchange the food hamper they are given. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
If you are interested in receiving a food hamper, please email kcombden@torbay.ca or leave a message at 709-437-6532 ext. 304. Information you will need to provide includes: your name, your current residential address, and a contact number where you can be reached.
Recipients will be assigned a time slot to pick up a food hamper at Foodland Torbay during the week of May 17-23 and are required to show an ID upon pick-up. Forms of ID must include both your name and address, such as a driver’s license or utility bill. To facilitate the process, the Manager of Foodland and one other Foodland staff person will be provided with your name and address. Our residents’ privacy is of the utmost importance, and information will not be shared for any other purpose than facilitating the provision of the food hampers.
If you require delivery, a delivery service will be provided.
