Fire Ban Lifted
Please be advised that the provincial fire ban has now been lifted on the island of Newfoundland. While the fire ban is lifted, the Town of Torbay and Torbay Volunteer Fire department strongly encourage residents to still use safe practice:
When using wood burning units have them secured on non-combustible materials and at least 3.5m away from any woods and buildings.
Only use fireworks outdoors in a clear, open area. If applicable, only use in an approved location designated by a community, city or fire department. Monitor wind strength and direction to ensure fireworks do not impact buildings, vehicles, overhead obstructions or dry brush/grass.
