Business Start Up Workshops

Are you a business owner wanting to upgrade your skillset? Are you an entrepreneur with a business idea that you’d like to get off the ground?

All are welcome to come to the Town of Torbay Business Workshop Series!

The program is a series of 7 workshops covering all areas of your business start up. See below the schedule for our breakfast sessions:


  • Wednesday April 5 @ 9:30am – Marketing 101
    • Torbay Fire Hall (Enter through Torbay Town Hall)
    • Join us to learn about strategic ways to identify, target and communicate with your customers.  We will discuss marketing funnels, developing marketing plans, the importance of your marketing efforts and materials.


  • Monday April 10 @ 9:30am – Selling 101
    • Kinsmen Community Centre
    • Join us to learn how to build your selling strategy and gain a few tips for closing the sale.


  • Wednesday April 12 @9:30am – Website Development
    • Torbay Fire Hall (Enter through Torbay Town Hall)
    • Join us as we discuss the need for a website, what you need to know before building one, and learn a few tricks to get the most out of the one you have


  • Wednesday April 26 @ 9:30am – Social Media
    • Torbay Fire Hall (Enter through Torbay Town Hall)
    • Social media is a great way to reach your customers and find new ones. Join us as we discuss ways to use social media as a tool for your business.


  • Thursday April 27 @ 9:30am – Business Start Up (RESCHEDULED)

  • Monday May 1 @ 9:30am – Introduction to the NL Oil and Gas Industry Supply Chain
