Amendment Notice | Jones Pond RSA to RLL Rezoning – Mapping

The general public is invited to view a draft copy of the Town of Torbay Development Regulations Amendment No. 16, 2024.

The proposed Development Regulations Amendment No. 16, 2024, will re-zone lands in the Jones Pond area that are currently zoned Residential Subdivision Area (RSA) to Residential Large Lot (RLL). The lands applicable to the rezoning are generally located in the following area, and are depicted in further detail in the associated draft amendment documents: north of Jones Pond/Jones Pond River, west of Brixham Crescent/Torquay Place/Sallesnik Lane, south of Salerno Place/Mahon’s Lane and east of Torbay Road/Morey’s Lane. The mapping amendment will retain a 30 metre buffer around Jones Pond and a 15 metre buffer along the north side of Jones Pond River. This mapping amendment is required, so Council may consider future residential development in the area.

The Town of Torbay Draft Development Regulations Amendment No. 16, 2024, and associated background documents shall be on display Wednesday April 17, 2024 to Friday, May 3, 2024, from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Town Hall, Torbay, as well as on the Town of Torbay website at www.torbay.ca . The public may provide any comments or concerns on the proposed change to the Town in writing before Council proceeds with adopting the proposed amendment. The deadline for written comments shall be 4:00 pm, Friday May 3, 2024.
