ADVISORY: Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing
Residents are advised that sanitary sewer smoke testing will be conducted beginning on November 14, 2019 and be ongoing for two weeks.
Testing will continue on November 19 to the end of the week, affecting residents south of the river (Island Pond Brook) between 9:00am-4:00pm on the noted days.
The intention of this testing is to identify sewer infrastructure leaks and cross-connections.
BioMaxx will systematically go up and down the streets in the community pumping a special harmless, non-damaging smoke throughout the sewer system, finding and making note of every cross connection and abnormality along the way. Smoke should not enter any houses unless there is a cross-connection. If this does occur, the smoke should dissipate within a minute once a window or door is opened.
Residents should expect to see smoke coming from the sewer system and vent stacks, as well as drone activity that will be ongoing during this time.
